One of the things that it is difficult to remember while you are in school but that you should never forget is that the world is really a small world. That’s especially true when you start narrowing it down to the specific fields that you’re studying in school and planning to work at in the future. The reason that you never want to forget this is because you want to make sure not to burn any bridges when you’re in school.
Let me tell you a short story. I have a friend who went to Gibbs College Vienna so she could work in the health care field. She looks down on people who get their health care degree online, a fact she made no secret of while she was in school although she stays quiet about it now. When she didn’t get promoted to a new position recently, she confronted the boss about why. She didn’t get a very good answer but later learned through the grapevine that the boss got an online health care degree and doesn’t appreciate her big mouth. The boss knew about her feelings because they had a friend in common at Gibbs.
You see, you never know what’s going to come up later that could have been prevented by keeping in mind during college that anything you say or do can come back to haunt you! Always take your education seriously and don’t say things that you think you might regret later on.
