All excellent points, to which I would add only one thing: consider hiring a professional resume writer!

Few documents which we create in our lives are as potentially valuable as our resumes. And few subjects on which we write are harder to deal with than listing our personal accomplishments.

I’ve found that good resume writers are worth much more than their modest costs. The very act of describing your professional history to another interested, objective person can clarify your mind wonderfully. Once you have a well-written, well-formatted resume of your professional history it becomes quite easy to personalize it for every new opportunity or interview.

If you are an independent, I would definitely recommend a coach. There is too much to know in commercial real estate. The more resources you can call on the better. Coaches are like a Swiss Army knife for your practice.

If you want a career in sales, dont bother with a degree - simple as.
Get some more applicable qualifications as soon as you can.
Maybe cut your teeth in retail banking for a while but the big money is in the private companies or your own company if you fancy going it alone.

It’s all about being happy! If you don’t enjoy what you do then it doesn’t matter how you are doing financially, you’re probably not enjoying life as much as you could be. Do what you want to and things will fall in to place.

There is so much to do in every field you can definitely pursue whatever you want. You can get in whatever industry and start at the bottom if need be. You may not make as much money as you want but you will get experience and working towards something you love.

Although it is great to do and pursue what you want, I do think you should have a back up plan just in case. Especially in this economy you don’t want to limit yourself and find that there is no availability in what you want. You can always come back to it later.
