Let’s say that you were going to sign up for a computer programming class at a school such as Briarcliffe College in NY. Do you think that everyone in the class would be there for the same reasons that you would choose to take the class? That’s not so. Despite the fact that everyone will be getting this highly specialized education, the purpose of being in the class will vary from student to student.
Some of the reasons that one might take a computer programming class include:
- Desire to get an entry-level job as a computer programmer.
- Need to get ongoing education for work that is already being done in the computer programming field.
- Seeking to get updated on the latest computer programming language to stay on top of the industry as a freelance computer programmer.
- Interest in learning more about computer programming for personal use rather than as a career move.
- Not sure what else to do and aware that this is a potentially great job path.
Which reason would be the one most likely to apply to you? The truth is that different reasons may apply to you at different times. And each student will be a little different which means you could actually learn a lot from your classmates while you are in school.

Today’s job market is as tough as ever. Most employers expect candidates to have at least basic computer skills like using a word processor or spreadsheet and communicate via e-mail. So it is very important that you too are equipped with these basic computer skills. But if you plan to take up career in computers I would suggest take it up at the Bentley University. I have seen their students drawing handsome salary after the completion of their degrees.
