Studying animation

I’ve always loved computers, especially designing websites. I’ve been doing it as a hobby for several years now and am completely self taught. When I decided recently to quit my retail job to pursue a career in computers, I figured that my talent and experience would be enough to get my foot in the door. Well, turns out I was wrong. All the jobs I’m seeing require some form of education, be it a degree in computer programming or a college course in web design.
So, now instead of trying to get a job in computers, I’ve decided that I need to go back to school first, so that I have the accreditation to back up my skill. I’m looking into a web design school that isn’t too far from where I live so I won’t have to deal with finding a new place to live. The school has some great animation programs that are right up my alley.
I’ve applied and now I am just waiting to hear back. I was already talking to one of the instructors and he said I shouldn’t have any problems getting into the class. And I was even able to get my old job back so I can make some money before school and during. Hopefully I’ll be switching to part time hours soon.
