Serena, My Angel

When my husband was transferred to Houston, I thought that I was never going to be happy again. The only thing that kept me sane was that I had a friend from high school who lived there. But other than that, we would no absolutely no one. I was scared and I felt lonely, as my husband was putting long hours into his new position.
My friend turned out to be my angel. She was attending Sanford Brown Houston at the time and she was able to give us suggestions on finding new doctors and pediatricians for our family. She spent a lot of time with me, helping me to learn the city and making me feel welcome.
It has been three years now and Houston is certainly home. I can’t, for the life of me, remember what was so scary for me about this city. I love it here and we fit into our community very well. I will always be grateful to Serena for being exactly what I needed when we came.
