Batting Practice

I’m about as much like home-run-derby-winner Justin Morneau as I am like Mickey Mouse, if you know what I mean. If you don’t, I’m saying that I’m not much of an athlete, and, in particular, I can’t bat worth anything. Nonetheless, I do enjoy spending a little time in softball batting cages Tampa is where I usually go. I guess you could say softball batting is a hobby of mine. In my experience, nothing relieves stress quite as quickly or effectively as smashing a few fastballs with all your might. I don’t just play around, though. I suppose the reason I get Tampa softball lessons instead of just finding any old pitching machine is that I like to improve at everything I do. Part of the pleasure, for me, is in watching myself learn and grow as a batter. I can hit pitches I wouldn’t have been able to react to a year ago, and it feels great. I can understand people who just want to relax and slug a few easy ones, and intensive Tampa softball training isn’t for them. I don’t expect to be a pro or anything—I just like to have an expert analyze my swing and explain to me how I can improve it. I strive for excellence.
